Our approach

At Ochil Tower, we manage the potentially challenging transition into a new environment, we build relationships based on trust and we foster an interest in learning. Our aim is to support and help with the development of social skills and to provide the optimum environment for living and learning. We work alongside a whole range of supporting partners: parents, carers, social workers, educational psychologists, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) specialists and others that form part of the team around the child or young person.

We work according to social pedagogy principles. Our approach reflects a holistic and relationship-centred way of working in care and education, and we have a 24 hour curriculum; there are always opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We view learning as an ongoing process, and we’ve developed a rhythm and a routine to our daily activities that places positive interactions with others at the heart of everything we do. You can find out more about social pedagogy here.
