Jim Alexander

Head of Care

During the last 15 years I’ve worked in a range of care environments, I was previously a Head of Care at a residential specialist school supporting children and young people who had additional support needs. I’m passionate about improving outcomes for children and young adults who are vulnerable, with a range of complex needs. At Ochil Tower School my focus is to support the creation of a care environment which does exactly that.

I have a proven track record in delivering models of good practice that ensure that the child or young person is placed at the centre of our care planning process. I believe that creating and maintaining a welcoming and positive working environment is vitally important to the success of Ochil Tower. I’m particularly interested in how quality improvement and quality assurance can impact in helping to raise care standards. For many years I've also been an accredited trainer in de-escalating techniques and behaviour management approaches.

I was attracted to Ochil Tower School by the Camphill community ethos and the social pedagogy model which offers a 24 hour curriculum to meet individual needs in a safe, positive and enriching environment, in which every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

I have a range of qualifications in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) including SVQ3 & 4, and Higher National Certificate.
