Susan Ward MBE

I worked within large general further education colleges in the south of England for 24 years until my official retirement from a senior management role in June 2014, after which I was a consultant and college governor until my return to Scotland in March 2018.

Originally trained in Edinburgh as a teacher of Physical Education and Health I developed an expertise across the specialist area of supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities and in particular those who suffer episodes of mental ill health and poor well-being.

I was thrilled to be awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours’ 2014 for ‘services to further education and young people with mental health conditions’ and now with becoming a trustee of Ochil Tower School.

I am the proud Granny of five grandchildren and mum to a young 3 year old golden working cocker spaniel.
