Anne Gibson

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Anne brings a wealth of experience with a professional background in education and community learning and development. She has worked in leadership roles across local government, the third sector, national government and the private sector.

As an HM Inspector of Education, Anne had a lead inspector role for inclusion and developing the young workforce nationally. Anne has led and contributed to inspections across sectors including residential schools, and has worked with Care Inspectorate colleagues in inspections of services to protect children and integrated children’s services.


Her commitment to improving outcomes for Scotland’s young people has driven her career. She has contributed to several ministerial groups and led the Scottish Government’s National Development Programme for Youth Work and Schools, including the production of ‘Bridging the Gap’.

Anne has over four years experience in the role of Chief Executive of a residential care and education organisation.

Anne serves as a non executive Director on the Board of NHS 24, is a trustee on the Board of Youth Scotland, sits on the Education Panel of the General Teaching Council of Scotland, is a lay member on the Joint Standing Committee for Legal Education in Scotland, and is a member of the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations.
